Welcome to Elderfield is Chris Cote's cozy horror RPG, published by Kwalee, with hand-drawn horror-manga art and a dark lofi soundtrack by Dated. The Steam 1.0.0 Windows build arrived on 10 September 2026 at $17.99, with a 10 percent introductory discount to $16.19. You cultivate land, stop unruly tentacles, manage otherworldly livestock, befriend or romance odd locals, fish, mine, forage, decorate a home, and die in your sleep while the local news grows stranger. Cozy difficulty keeps harvest and discovery peaceful; the challenge path uses turn-based combat against Lovecraftian horrors, and the Old Gods are waiting on the challenge path.

The Steam page lists five feature bullets that match the rest of the store pitch. Full RPG life sim covers relationships, customization, fishing and more. Hand drawn horror manga inspired artwork sits beside Dated's dark lofi soundtrack. Build your farm, manage animals, mine and forage is the resource loop. The last bullet splits the two play paths: cozy mode, or in-depth turn based combat.

Those bullets are the official feature contract, not a fan summary. They line up with the longer about text: farm land and tentacles, marry a local, seek the Old Gods, and die in your sleep. The soundtrack also ships as a $4.99 Steam DLC, Welcome to Elderfield Soundtrack, under app 5145770.

Platforms, languages and Deck

Appdetails marks Windows only. Steam features include full controller support, 51 Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud and Family Sharing. Official news and Steam Deck HQ both call the game Steam Deck Verified. Steam Deck HQ also notes that full radio audio stays English-only even when other languages are installed.

Launch languages are English with full audio plus French, German, Spanish - Spain, Russian, Simplified Chinese and Portuguese - Brazil. Demo patch v0.11.17 added those localizations and documented a separate fan-translation autoload path that can pick up Japanese, Korean, Polish, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, Thai and Indonesian files if they are present.

Death, sleep and the news

Store copy lists die in your sleep among core activities, next to farming, romance, mysteries and Old Gods. The Steam achievement named Welcome to Elderfield is earned by dying. Groundhog Day and Tis But a Flesh Wound track 10 and 100 deaths, and Borrowed Time counts five survivals with Rings of Immortality.

Launch copy keeps a morning TV broadcast and a shower that really rejuvenates. A Steam still shows a CRT News Anchor reporting anomalous activity around town. Community pages describe sleep events and a midnight day-rollover even if you skip bed; official copy does not publish that table, so treat community timing as a hint rather than a patch note.

Official channels

Steam lists official YouTube, Bluesky, Instagram, TikTok, X and Discord URLs. Instagram is elderfieldgame; the public profile exists, though individual posts were not enumerable without login. Publisher trailers live on Kwalee Gaming, and the developer channel @WelcometoElderfield hosts a release upload.

Games Steam bundled with Elderfield

Launch-day Steam news bundled Welcome to Elderfield with Graveyard Keeper, Look Outside, Bloomtown: A Different Story and Shift At Midnight. Those four titles are the closest published adjacent products on the store, not a ranked recommendation list.

If you want a second cozy-horror farm or a second town that refuses to stay ordinary, start from that bundle set. The Steam page for Welcome to Elderfield remains the canonical product page for price, languages and Deck status.

Graveyard Keeper, Look Outside, Bloomtown: A Different Story and Shift At Midnight are the four titles named in that launch-day news bundle. None of them replace Elderfield's farm-and-die loop; they are the store's own neighbor shelf. Price, Windows-only, seven official languages and Steam Deck Verified still live on the Welcome to Elderfield app page, not on those neighbors. Start with the farm task if you want harvest, or the combat task if you want Cozy versus Nightmare, then use Achievements and 1.0.0 when you need the 51-row list or the dated ladder.
